About Vesna

“The only requirement is having a willingness to heal and improve personal wellness.”

Vesna Young has been practicing yoga for the past 15 years with a background in Ashtanga Yoga, becoming a certified instructor in 2002. She was drawn to this style of yoga upon realizing the benefits of balance and mental focus for adrenaline sports. Her practice has evolved over the years and softened while still maintaining it’s foundation in the Ashtanga flow and postures. Her interest in the healing arts continued and Vesna was introduced to Thai Body Work in 2000 while traveling in Thailand. On a beach in Ko Tao she met her future teacher, but it wasn’t until 2008 that Vesna was able to study with Kristin Nuttall at the Sacredasia School of Ancient Thai Massage in Whistler BC.  The 200hr training in Nuad Boran (Northern Style Thai Massage) complemented her background in Ashtanga Yoga.  Most recently, she completed the 800hr program at the Oriental Healing Arts Center in Anchorage AK to become a Registered Massage Therapist.  This program focused on Swedish Massage, Deep Techniques, Acupressure Points and specific spot treatments for shoulder, knee and sciatica pain with a foundation in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The Glacier Creek Massage and Wellness Studio is  tucked away in rustic Old Girdwood at the mouth of Glacier Creek and in the heart of the Chugach mountains.

“My goal is to bring pain relief and relaxation to clients by combining my skills to cater to specific needs.” – Vesna
